The Affinity III Spod Longcast from PENN is a fantastic longcast reel that has been specially designed for spodding and marking. It is equipped with the best features to make this mill as durable as possible. Cosmetically it is a perfect match for the Affinity III reels, but some major upgrades have been made to make this reel the best in class for spodding. First of all, the reel has an extremely high gear ratio of 5.0 per turn, resulting in a retrieval speed of 120 cm per turn. In addition, the large egg-shaped handle knob provides extra grip and comfort for quick retrieval. However, where this reel really sets itself apart from the competition is that we have used proprietary and super strong CNC equipment - making it as strong and durable as can be and the 7 sealed stainless steel ball bearings make it run very smooth even under pressure. The extra slow oscillation system in combination with the long stroke, shallow and conically shaped spool creates perfect line lay with both mono and braided lines, resulting in extreme casting distances. And last but not least, the spool has 2 strong round metal line clips.
